About The Author
Jesse Giles Christiansen is an American author who writes compelling literary fiction that weaves the real with the surreal. He attended Florida State University where he received his B.A. in English literature. His newest novel, “Pelican Bay,” focuses on a very old fisherman, Captain Shelby, and the mysterious happenings linked to him surrounding a nosy, sea-battered beach town (release date: July 20th, 2013, Imajin Books). One of his literary goals is to write at least fifty novels, and he reminds himself always of something that Ray Bradbury once said: “You fail only if you stop writing.”

My Review:
Pelican Bay is the kind of book that you don't wanna start until you have an afternoon to devote entirely to reading it. Once you start you do NOT wanna put the book down until you are finished! The story is gripping and enchanting and will certainly entertain even the most hard core fan.

The story is pretty swift moving, as I've said, you fall into it first thing and never feel left behind the whole way through! Captain Shelby is quite a unique character as I wasn't sure how to take him. I felt like maybe there was something hidden about him, but still liked his personality. Ethan was likeable, but for some reason I was not alway keen on Morgan. She seemed like of almost mean? I dunno, something irked me about her, but I'm not sure what.

All in all, I really liked it. The feel to this book is really what stood out for me. I felt like every corner turned something sinister may happen, and I LOVE when a book can make me feel like that!
